The fourth graders
One of the fifth grade boys mom also hung around for service, and she was so amazing! My sister and I couldn't stop talking to her. She has a very interesting and talented family. One of her sons played the drums for us and it totally blew me away- he was so good! I loved the way his younger brother responded towards him too, he said some thing like "that's no good, play another one- he can do better" but the whole time he had a smile on his face like he was proud of him. I like this family- they are an unexpected blessing that I thought I would never receive!

MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC
1) It is going to rock
2) It is going to be fun
3) It is going to rock
Opps, that was three things. Everyone who sang in all of the events for the Children's department events for the school year did an amazing job. We will be having auditions for the all new worship team coming this summer, so stay tunned!!!

I'm always looking for more help including people who are willing to come along side the ministry in prayer.

Elevate Report
I started out the conference alittle bummed thinking, "man we are terrible" but then I started hearing things we are doing right. I talked to people who are actually envious of what we have.
Now I realize that our children's ministry is very good but we have a chance at greatness. I pray that I can bring some good ideas back.
Incidentally, I took a picture with this Pepsi machine at the hotel because it made me laugh because it looks old and nobody thought to replace it. Kind of seems like some of the ministry stories I hear here.
Incidentally 2, I have the worst camera phone ever, don't worry this picture wasn't taken beyond any sort of grave.

Pool Party
The pool party was a great way to help get the 4th graders interested in SURF ministry. I'm excited about getting them, I've worked with them and they seem pretty cool.
In other news I got a pretty good sunburn, if you interested in the updates they will be on my blog here.
All in all it was a good time and I'm really looking forward to and praying for a strong Summer.

SURF Girls BIble Study
So yesterday was our first meeting with the girls starting our bible study called Girls of Grace: Faith, Family, Friends and boys. It was a little nerve racking because I didn’t know if I was supposed to be expecting five girls or forty like the girls kick off that we did earlier. We had about fourteen which was a blessing of God because it was a happy medium. All I knew was that I want to bring these girls in a closer walk with God, I really have no idea how that’s going to happen but so far so good.
I had all the girls introduce themselves to each other. They had six questions they had to answer-and then I had them all write a letter to God. I had them write down psalm 116:1-2 and asked them to read it every morning. I want these girls to know they can call on God for all things. I wrote out a letter to God too, telling him I had no idea what I was doing but hopefully he’d keep showing me what I needed to do and say. One of our volunteers brought cookies and little bottles of water, which the girls loved! It was over all an exciting night, scary but over all good and surprising.

SURF Girls Bible Study
When any volunteer catches a vision I feel that it is my job to supply the wood for the fire that's burning inside of them. It's my job to say 'yes' whenever possible, to take down obstacles and bring more fire when theirs dies down.
If you are in my ministry (I say that with a slight smile on my face because I have to constantly remind myself that it's God's) I encourage you to catch a vision and run with it. If you work in some other ministry God bless you and I hope you have someone above you who will is ready for your idea.
Back to the Bible study for a minute. This is going to be a great thing for girls in the 4th, 5th and 6th grade. Adolescences is creeping down more and more every time someone checks so we need to give these girls solid Biblical advice, support and point them toward the savior every time we get the chance. Hopefully in doing this we will prevent falls, and if we don't it will at least cushion falls.

Welcome
This is also a great way to learn about our Children's Ministry for people who are checking out our church. Feel free to read as much as you like and ask any questions that come to mind.
We hope this blog is also a fun place of fellowship and enjoying how great our God is.
